Janet Osborn
Owner and founder of Art Works LLC, Janet Osborn, is a current resident of Frankfort, Kentucky. She completed her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Delaware and her Masters in Art Therapy from the University of New Mexico. She is board certified through the national Art Therapy Certification Board and is a Licensed Practicing Art Therapist in the state of Kentucky. Janet is a member of the American Art Therapy Association and the Kentucky Art Therapy Association. "Becoming immersed in one's own creative process is a profoundly enriching experience that can connect us to a deep joy as well as help guide us through the dark times in our lives." For Janet, staying connected to her own creative process and making art on a regular basis has always been a priority in her life. Janet's path to becoming an art therapist evolved out of the deeply beneficial experiences of creating her own art and a desire to help others connect to their own creative source. Art Therapy Janet is a nationally board certified art therapist and licensed in the state of Kentucky. She has been practicing art therapy for over 35 years with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, nursing homes, VA hospitals and private practice. Most recently she has joined Yes Arts in Frankfort and provides art therapy services in collaboration with the non profit organization. Janet firmly believes in and trusts the creative process to heal, nurture and promote overall well being. ART Janet has been making art since she was a young child. Early in her career, she created oil paintings of large scale abstracts inspired by landscape forms. More recently she began working with glass in a process she calls "painting with glass" Nature has always been the inspiration for Janet's artwork. Her work reflects a love of landscape, the sea, organic forms, color relationships and light. |
